JTC Minutes of Meeting - 4 December 2006
Attendees: 16 consisting of 11 JTC members, 5 guests including visiting Toastmasters from Brunei , Experd and Kebayoran Club.
Theme of the meeting: All for One and One for All
Word of the Day: Sacrifice
President Harry Nizam opened the meeting at 7pm and asked our guests to introduce themselves to the audience. After the opening from the President, he switched into his role as - TOM of the evening.
TOM Harry briefly explained the theme for the evening which reminded us of a motto from the story “The Three Musketeers”.
After a brief explanation on the theme, the TOM introduced the General Evaluator – TM Edwin.
GE Edwin gladly introduced his evaluation team for the evening that consisted of Grammarian – TM Susan, Timer – TM Thomas, Ah/WOD Counter – TM Jiway and Ballot Counter – TM Antari.
ATMS Ridwan from Brunei was our Table Topics Master for the evening and he gave everyone thrilling things to talk about::
TM Jiway explained to us what he thought ‘all for one and one for all’ was about
TM Tassya wanted to join the ‘Hell’s Angels’ but only had a Honda bebek
TM Utami would like to have a tattoo of an angel on her back
Guest Rella talked about Harley Davidson bikes
Guest Ita shared with us one of her hardest sacrifices in her life
After the Table Topics session, the meeting continued to the Prepared Speech session where we heard the speeches from the following:
1. TM Utami – BM#1 (The Ice Breaker) Title: “It’s my life”
We now know that TM Utami is from Bali but has zero knowledge about
Bali because she’s spent most of her life in Jakarta
2. TM Sukimawati – BM#2 (Organize your Speech) Title: “The tiring and
exciting trip" shared with us her experience when she traveled to China
3. TM Ayu – BM#2 (Organize your Speech) Title: “Diary of Hopes”
TM Ayu knows what she wants in her life and shared that with us.
4. ACB Wivina – AM#2 (Manual Book: Special Occasion Speeches, Project:
Speaking in Praise) Title: “Eulogy for my Mother” Spoke about her mother
after she had passed away.
Following the Prepared Speech session, the control was given back to GE Edwin to lead the Evaluation Session. First in the session was the individual evaluations conducted by:
- First timer TM Tassya evaluated TM Utami
- DTM Nono evaluated TM Sukimawati
- ATMS Ridwan evaluated TM Ayu
- CTM/CL Imung evaluated ACB Wivina
Then, Edwin’s team gave their respective reports and after his own report, he returned the control to TOM Harry.
The meeting adjourned after the announcement of the favourites in the
Hall of Fame:
