Welcome to the JTC Family!!!

Theme of meeting: Persistence Pays
Word of the Day: Obstinate

Our TOM for the evening was VP Membership CC Alistair, who was very persistent indeed in his role as TOM. He mentioned a memorable quote from Walt Disney –
If you can dream it, you can do it.

TOM Alistair then introduced the General Evaluator of the meeting who was JTC’s Secretary and acting Treasurer, TM Tassya. The GE had an important role tonight but she couldn’t do it without her supporting team – Grammarian (TM Astuty), Timer (TM Charles), Ballot Counter (TM Aulia) and Ah/WoD Counter (CTM Imung).

The GE returned the control to our TOM and our TOM introduced the first session of the meeting which was the Table Topics Session. Leading the session was our VP Public Relations – TM Eva. Eva wanted the volunteers to read some characteristics of a good leader and asked them to talk about what they think best described a good leader.

TM Stephen shared with us his thoughts of a good leader.

DTM Wardiman said that a good leader should be result oriented.

TM Utami believes that a good leader should be patient.

After the Table Topics session, TOM Alistair led us into the Prepared Speech session where we heard new and interesting stories from these superb speakers:

Speaker #1: TM Johan, from his icebreaker we now know that he was born in Jakarta, he moved to Singapore, then moved to California and is interested in drama, radio, theatre and TV broadcasting.

Speaker #2: TM Hartono, who also did his icebreaker, told us he is working for a Thai listed coal company and has been working there for 18 years.

Speaker #3: CTM Johnson, presented another speech from the Persuasive Manual and told us that a light house serves as a goal and purpose of where we are going.

Speaker #4: CTM/CL Harry became the General Manager of PT. Lapindo Brantas and gave an explanation to the press of what his company has done in regards to the Sidoarjo mud flow.

After the prepared speech session, we had a group of top notch individual evaluators who led us into the evaluation session:

- DTM Nono evaluated CTM Johnson
- ATMB Becca evaluated CTM/CL Harry
