Moving on to the prepared speech session, TM Bena gave out her speech entitled “Blind Ambition” (Basic Manual #6) with a help from a Japanese Folktale about parents mouse who looked for the best groom for their dearest daughter. In her speech, TM Bena tried to convey her message to the audience telling that the desire to look for the best should not turn into a blind ambition which makes us forget about our identity and makes us forget to be grateful at the blessings we have been bestowed upon. TM Bena was evaluated attentively by CC Bahtiar Manurung who suggested her to give a longer conclusion and to add more pauses to her speech.

Furthermore, the passionate-sphere of the meeting was even strengthened as the ToM opened the long-awaited educational session from 3 prominent Toastmasters DTM Mien Soenari, DTM Harlina Indra, and ACS/ALB Rudyanto Sutardji.

DTM Mien Soenari: "Know-How about Judging"

Firstly, DTM Mien Soenari educated the audience on “Know-How about Judging”. As the club contests on evaluation & humorous speech are going to be held in the coming weeks, everyone is tied up with the speech preparations. However, the judge preparation holds as much vital element as other preparations in order for a club to put forward a quality and prestigious contest. The Immediate Past District Governor-District 87 emphasised that although judges could be familiar with the contestants, however they must judge the contestants like never see or meet them before. She also strongly advised a judge to take notes before giving out scores to contestants.

DTM Harlina Indra: "Evaluate Effectively"
Secondly, JTC pride, DTM Harlina Indra, educated the audience on “Evaluate Effectively”. The Division Representative of Evaluation Contest told the audience to consider the 3 ingredients (among others) for a great evaluation speech. They are Education, Encouragement, and Entertainment. The Education ingredient contains of giving analysis, giving recommendation, and drawing summary. The Encouragement ingredient refers to the suggestion and motivation given by an evaluator to the speaker. Meanwhile, the Entertainment ingredient will spice up an evaluation speech. DTM Harlina underlined that after all, an evaluation is a mini speech whereby the 3 Es are important to look at.

ACS/ALB Rudyanto Sutardji: "Humor is Easy and Fun"
Lastly, the educational session was ended joyfully by the District Champion of Humorous Contest 2003 and 2006, ACS/ALB Rudyanto Sutardji. He opened his educational session, “Humor is Easy and Fun”, by highlighting to the audience that what differentiates a humorous speech with a stand-up comedy is that a humorous speech conveys a great message to remember. He continued that twists, voice intonation, exaggerations, and being interactive with the audience are some of the key things to incorporate to a humorous speech.
