Speech title: “Bhinneka Tunggal Ika Through Mass Media”

Mass media has grown tremendously and social media has become integral in our lives. This has brought poitive and negative impacts, in citizen journalism and cyberbulliying respectively. TM Qilan reminds us to embrace Bhineka Tunggal Ika in our usage of mass media to prevent cyberbullying and to embrace citizen journalism and increase the media literacy.

AM#1 Interpretative Reading

Speech title: “Petruk Becomes King”

TM Reza read a traditional Indonesian wayang story titled ‘Petruk Dadi Ratu’ (Petruk Becomes King). In this story, Petruk (in the guise of Prabu Welgeduwelbeh) got Jamus Kalimasada, a very strong magical amulet,  and become king of Kingdom of Lojitenggara Sonyawibawa; he is ultimately overthrown by Bagong, until the kingdom is surrendered to the Pandawa.

Speech title: “Data for Development”

TM Fia asked us to be government officials and considered the scattered data which delays information decision in the government. She proposed to do a data reformation for better development planning.

Edu Speech Session

Edu Speech Session was delivered by Johan Setiawan, DTM. TM Johan reminded us that communication is only about 20% content and heavily relies on the delivery. In public communication there are 4 important parts: the voice (instrument), the resonance (tool), the words (meaning), and the mind. As important as those 4 parts is the body language, which comprises of posture, gesture, expression, and recall.
