Minutes of JTC Meeting, 22 September 2008
Hi again!
This is the last Minutes of Meeting issued before Lebaran. Our next meeting will be conducted on the 6th of October 2008, at 18:30. We will have a short break next week, assuming that a lot of members will be out of town or very busy handling all household chores by themselves.
Our last meeting was full of surprises, especially for those who were appointed to take a certain role on site. Our Toastmaster of the Meeting was DTM Nono. The theme he chose for the meeting was “Kick Up Our Heels”. As the theme shows, out ToM invited all attendees to enjoy themselves during the whole meeting. We did.
Our General Evaluator was CC Alistair. His team consisted of these excellent members as follows: TM Yeni as Timekeeper, CC Thomas as Grammarian, ACS Vina as Ah/WOD Counter, and ACB/CL Harry as Ballot Counter. The word of the day was “Whoop it up”. Well, it went well with the theme.
We only had one prepared speaker, ACB/CL Stephen, who delivered his AM # 5 titled “F.A.L – Air Plunge to the Sea”. He was to pretend to be a representative of a company which was having a crisis and all of us were the media attending his press conference. He was evaluated by ATM Etta. After that, we had three educational sessions. TM Matthew related his impression and experience while preparing and competing for the last Humorous contests. He knew he was going to deliver his speech only minutes before on stage. CTM/CL Imung explained the role of Vice President Education and then ACB Jhonson explained the role of Vice President Public Relation. Maybe because the whole session allowed us to put questions forward, that night we had a lot of casual conversation. The atmosphere was very friendly at that time.
The table topics session came next. I think it has become a new custom to put the table topic session after the prepared speeches session. ACB Johan was the Table Topic Master. His questions were around Toastmasters and speech. (He is such a dedicated Toastmaster, isn’t he?) There were six people got up and gave a speech: CC Alistair, TM Sisca, TM Ami, DTM Harlina, ATM Robert, and Guest Hendri.
The evaluation session was a little different from usual. After ATM Etta delivered her speech, people were invited to give “inputs” on TM Matthew’s speech. And we had an additional joke session from ATM Robert.
For the hall of fame, we had ATM Robert as the best Table Topic Speaker. The President’s Award went to DTM Nono.
Although the meeting started a bit late, it ended quite on time. We had 21 attendees, including two guests. We had a very “club” atmosphere and we enjoyed ourselves. We are going to miss Toastmasters next week. But don’t worry, we shall meet again in two weeks. Catch you then!
