JTC Minutes of Meeting - 25 September 2006

Attendees: 27 consisting of 18 JTC members, 4 guests and 5 visiting Toastmasters (2 Kebayoran, 2 Mets and 1 RPX)
Theme of the meeting: SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF
Word of the Day: Ashtonish

It was the first JTC meeting in Ramadhan and everyone got a cup of 'cendol' to open their fast.......hmmm. ....yum, yum....
JTC President Harry Nizam opened the meeting and inducted a new member to JTC - Sukimawati. Welcome, Kim!
The meeting was handed over to the TOM, CTM Imung, who ashtonished the audience with her style of leading the meeting. Her theme "Sweat the Small Stuff" was to contradict the well known "Don't sweat the small stuff" saying. Many of us forget to sweat the small stuff - a sample in Toastmasters is the Ah - even though it's small but sweating it will make a big difference. Or a thank you note, a small appreciation, if we sweat these too, it'll mean a lot.
TOM Imung then introduced the GE for the evening - our Club President, CTM Harry. His GE Team consisted of TM Susan as Timer, TM Dini as Ballot Counter and TM Thomas as Ah/WOD Counter. Our Grammarian for the evening was imported from Mets Club, TM Patar.

Prepared Speech Session:
We got to know two new members of JTC. TM Tifa & TM Ayu delivered their Icebreaker and now we know that TM Tifa likes to travel a lot and enjoys watching movies except horror movies. TM Ayu likes watching the romantic and slapstick movies and loves shopping for shoes! In delivering her BM#4 speech, TM Tassya took the audience to Bangkok, visiting places like the Grand Palace, floating market and Chatuchak market. Do you know how to enjoy yourself if you're a minority? That is if you're a women among a majority of men. Well, in her BM#9 project, TM Astuty persuaded the women to understand men, think positive and cover accidents quickly and sharply. The Birthday Boy, TM Dharmawan, delivered his BM#2 project and informed everyone that in being a salesman, you must have a very good mind, good spirit and good heart.

Table Topics Session:
We also imported a Table Topics Master that evening, CTM Rinaldi from RPX volunteered impromptu to lead the Table Topics session.
ATM Robert shared a funny experience when he travelled with a friend who was fasting during Ramadhan.
TM Astrida doesn't do a lot of accounting jobs anymore and never thinks about her personal account as she spends more than she earns.
At a TV studio recording live, ATM Etta mentioned that Toastmasters is a place to have fun and learn.
When it was TM Thomas' turn to record live, he said that after Toastmasters he grew more confident and was able to give out positive energy.
