Moving forward in the new year.

This is my first email to you all as the new President of Jakarta Toastmasters Club, 2009-10.
Firstly, I want to thank the Exco from last year in leading the club - Alistair, Imung, Stephen, Jhonson, Ivan, Dyah and Etta. I know they have spent a lot of personal time leading the club, we achieved the Presidents Distinguished Club award last year, and I value their continued support and experience this year as well.
Now, allow me to introduce the new team for this year:
Vice President Education: CC Vanessa Hendriadi
Vice President Membership: CC Dyah Yasmina
Vice President Public Relations: DTM Harlina Indra
Secretary: TM Fathia Saripuspita
Treasurer: TM Fadli
Sergeant at Arms: TM Taufan
Toastmasters has been around for about 85 years, and our club is the oldest club in Indonesia with a distinguished history. We have already had our first meeting as the new Exco - we have some fresh ideas, and we will continue to move the club forward in a positive direction. This includes such things as more debate sessions, newsletters, and programs to help you achieve your speaking and leadership goals. Our aim is the same as the mission of the Toastmasters club that you'll find on the Toastmasters website: "to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every individual member has the opportunity to develop oral communication and leadership skills, which in turn foster self-confidence and personal growth."
Finally and most importantly, we aim to have fun doing it - with the same creative energy that our members have always brought to our club - your club. We welcome your ideas and your involvement.
We hope you can come along and support us in the new year next Monday and hear some of the ideas we have for Jakarta Toastmasters Club. I will be TOM, so please email me with any roles or speeches for the night.
