Minutes of Meeting, February 9, 2009
Hi again, everyone! How’s life?
Did you come to our last meeting? If you didn’t, you really missed something. The theme for our last meeting was “Good Luck!” It was chosen by our Toastmaster of the Meeting, CC Dyah, because she wants to wish good luck to everyone with their lives. Coincidentally, last Monday was also the celebration of the 15th day of the first Chinese month, which is the last day of Chinese New Year celebration where people pray for good luck for the rest of the year.
Our General Evaluator was TM Ami. She was helped by ACS/ALB Vina as Grammarian, CC Thomas as Timer, TM Laura as Ballot Counter, and TM Taufan as Ah & Word of the Day Counter. The word of the day was “parlay”, which has the same meaning as “bet”.
Our Jokers Wild Session attracted four jokes, coming form CC Thomas, CC Matthew, CC Vanessa, and ACB/ALB Johan. It was the first time that more than one person stood up in the Jokers Wild Session. After that, CC Matthew delivered a 3-minute speech in the In My Opinion Session, and talked about “Being on Time”.
The Table Topics Master was TM Ronny. He invited five people to come forward: CC Thomas, Guest Ratu, Guest Susan, ACB/CLB Stephen, and Guest Karina. All questions were related to luck.
We only had one prepared speaker, which was CC Vanessa. She delivered her AM Storytelling # 2 titled “My Unforgettable Trip”. She was evaluated by DTM Harlina.
For the hall of fame: the best Table Topics Speaker was Guest Ratu, the best Prepared Speaker was CC Vanessa, and the best Evaluator was DTM Harlina.
The only announcement came from our Area Governor, about the upcoming additional TLI which will be conducted on the 14th of February, at Graha Unilever, starting at 13:00.
There were sixteen people coming, including three guests. The number was not too big, but we still had a good time. We’re going to have another meeting next week, the same time, the same place. Just be there!
