Meeting - 18 May 2009

Dear my beloved JTC-ers,

Like waves, our JTC meetings are up and down. We have experienced the highest number of attendance this past few weeks, and last week we have also experienced the lowest ever! There were only 6 people attended the session. Thanks to Johan, our Area Governor, Harlina our seasoned Toastmasters, the always active TM Matthew who was the TOM and the TTM for the day, TM Yuli, Khrisma visiting Toastmaster from Unilever, and guest Jeremy who were there to make it run smoothly.

I understand that this happened not necessarily caused by internal factor, such as not interesting meeting, or a lack of enthusiasm from the exco, but it could also come from external factors which is beyond our own control. However, on behalf of exco, I would like to ask your feedback and answer these questions, and kindly send back to me:

1. What is the biggest drive for you to come to JTC? (eg. Program, people, venue, time, personal, etc)
2. What would you like to see more of JTC meeting? (eg. Interesting program, active exco, timely info, good coordination, mentoring, etc). You can also be specific, for example, fun program, debate, educational session etc.
3. Room for improvement?

Please send your feedback to Imung.hikmah@gmail.com. You will get a chance to win books: Seeds of Personal Victory by Lim How (Bahasa version), and Pure Power (Inti Pemberdayaan Pribadi yang Luar Biasa) by James Valentine, and CD Interactive (original) on Magic Memory.

Now for next week, please make the wave up again! I need you to take roles.

We have speakers:
1. Imung AM # 1 Entertaining Speech
2. Matthew AM – (tba)
3. Men Jung

We need Toastmasters of the Meeting, Table Topic Masters, and the General Evaluation Group (General Evaluator, Ah/WOD Counter, Grammarian, Ballot Counter and Timer). Please sign up and send it to me via email.

Cheers,

Imung Hikmah

Dear Imung,

For me its the people.
I'll be back on 25/5 meeting (insya Allah), here I've visited Illawara Toastmasters Club - they have the same problem as we have; the meeting was 15 minute late - but they prepare the meeting well in advance -> see the attached program sheet.

what surprised me is the Club President DTM May Mitchell - she will be 90 years old next June 1.

Hi guys,

I agree with Imung that there is a first time for everything (including our record low), but let's all get back into track and be the enthusiastic JTCers we all are and always have been.

I will deliver my AM#3 from Storytelling.. Title TBD.

See u all next Monday!

Cheers,

Hi everyone!

I know, some of you maybe just in the middle of throwing clothes and shoes into your suitcase, hurrying to leave town. We have one mid-week holiday this Thursday and everyone (including me!) would certainly love to escape from our daily life for some days, or even for a week. But still, Jakarta Toastmasters Club has a commitment to arrange its weekly meetings every Monday. It definitely includes this very Monday, 18th of May!

So, anyone who will still be in/around Jakarta on Monday and needs some diversion from his/her daily activities is welcome to visit our 18th of May meeting, on the 29th floor of Menara Imperium.

I will be the Toastmaster of the Meeting, and the theme will be (this will be really long) : "Hobbies, Addiction, and Things We Would Love To Do Over And Over Again".The word of the day will be "wont". I don't know who will be the TTM, GE, and the GE team, but I'm certain we'll sort things out tomorrow. Surprise is a spice of life, right?

There will be five speakers (but none has confirmed the title) :
1. Colin Ly - BM#2
2. Men Jung - BM#?
3. Vanessa - AM#3 Storytelling
4. Matthew - AM?
5. Imung - AM#1 Intrepretive Reading

So, anyone who would like to come, please do so. Please note: speakers who fails to inform his/her title and/or manual before 15:00 this Monday shall not be put in the prepared speaker's list. Have a good day!

Cheers,
Dyah Yasmina
Club Secretary
