Minutes of Meeting : November 03, 2008

Hi everyone!

It’s rainy season already, and last Monday, it was raining, too. But that didn’t stop people from coming to our meeting. There were 25 people coming, including 3 guests. The theme for the meeting was “Rainy Season”. Our Toastmaster of the Meeting was TM Dyah.

Our General Evaluator was an impromptu one, volunteering herself right when we needed her. She was DTM Harlina. Her team consisted of : CC Alistair as Grammarian, TM Tri as Timer, TM Siska as Ballot Counter, and ACB Jhonson as Ah & WoD Counter. The word of the day was “deluge”.

Before the Table Topic Session, we had four new members inducted : TM Tri, TM Timor, TM Hernita, and TM Amelia. Our Table Topic Master was TM Ivan. He showed us pictures with some keyword on screen, and asked people to come up and make a speech based on the keyword. Four people came forward and presented their speech : CC Vanessa, TM Taufan, guest Airin, guest Martin, and TM Handi.

We had three prepared speeches. The first speaker was TM Andi. He talked about traffic jam in Jakarta. He was evaluated by ACS/ALB Wivina. The second speaker was TM Matthew, explaining about the sorry speech of the Prime Minister of Australia. He was evaluated by ACB/ALB Johan. The third speech was a special performance by TM Dinesh, who is going to compete in the District level. The title was “Proposing to A Woman”. He was evaluated by CC Vanessa, who is also going to the District competition. We had a special session to help both speakers getting more inputs to their speech and deliverance. The special session was lead by DTM Harlina.

The best Table Topic Speaker was CC Vanessa. The best Prepared Speaker was TM Matthew. The best Evaluator was ACB/ALB Johan. The president’s award went to DTM Harlina. At 21:07, the meeting was adjourned, and it was time for all to return home. We all had a good time there. We hope to see you all again next week.
