Minutes of Meeting 16 March 2009
Hi again everyone!
After we had a break on March 9th, we resumed having our weekly meeting again last Monday. The theme was “Face-to-Face”, chosen by the Toastmaster of the Meeting (TOM), CTM/CL Imung, because it is the most common method of human interaction.
The General Evaluator was CC Matthew. He was helped by a team which consisted of CC Dyah as Grammarian, CC Thomas as Timer, Guest Marshall as Ballot Counter, and TM Fathia Ah & Word of the Day Counter. The word of the day was “synergy”.
The Table Topics Session was lead by TM Ivan. His way of conducting the session was like this: first, he mentioned the general theme, and then he asked for a speaker, and then he showed the specified theme on the screen. Five people came forward to meet his challenge: TM Taufan, CC Thomas, CC Matthew, Guest Dewi, Guest Marshall.
We only had one prepared speaker, ACB/ALB Johan. He delivered AM#1 Interpersonal Communication “Conversing with Ease”. He was evaluated by ATM Robert.
After the evaluation session, we moved to the movie session. First, we had ATM Robert playing a video of Severn Suzuki’s speech. It was a speech on environmental issue that she delivered about ten years ago when she was 12 or 13 years old. After that, our TOM played a video which explained about facial expression. The title of the video was “Face to Face”, from which our TOM picked the theme of the meeting.
As for the hall of fame: the best Table Topics Speaker was Guest Marshall, the best prepared speaker was ACB/ALB Johan, and the best evaluator was ATM Robert.
